Halloween Dance party

When you are three, there are lots of wonderful things like wearing your Halloween costume to dance class. Nothing like green tights!

This was a special Halloween song they danced to just for parents. And yes, I filmed the entire thing upside down. Honestly, I forgot the camera was on its side until I looked at it. Stupid, I know. Oh well. This is really just for grandma and papa to see.
 My girl in action!
The teacher had just said to the parents, "Can't you see how cute these girls are?" Anja replied, "yeah, I'm cute." Much laughter from parents. We are wondering if she needs a professional therapist to help with shyness?
Yelled from the stage, "Mom, I got candy! Make good choices and I'll share with you."
I must say, "make good choices" a little too much. It is the last thing I say to my boys as they head out the door to school. She must be taking it to heart.

Pumpkin Pickin'

Hammin' it up for mom.

Searching for the perfect pumpkin

Nothing better than having a big brother around when you need a little extra muscle.

This is the pumpkin patch we did our hunting in.

Perfection!

Anja thought the other kids looked like they were having fun, then she tried it and wanted out!

The best one yet!
We made our yearly trek to the local pumpkin patch to find our orange spheres. This year, the hot weather turned most of the pumpkins to mush, so the farm shipped in pumpkins from up north. Guess we can't really say we have Utah pumpkins this year. Oh well. It was fun, it was warm and it's tradition.

Scott and Shelbi!!

We absolutely HATE that Scott and Shelbi are far away now. But it does make their homecoming all that more sweet. They were in town this weekend for Shelbi's brother's wedding and we loved every minute of it. Anja flew into Scott's arms and didn't get out. She loves her uncle more than anything.

Auntie Shelbi was taking pictures of everything but once we got there, there were hugs, kisses and endless jokes all around. Being together again brought out the giggles in us all. Dresses, flowers, sewing kits...
As is tradition, we had to take an Uncle Scott goofy picture (he uses the most current picture as his screen saver--what do they think at his work!).
Anja was laughing too hard to pull another goofy face.
 Sunday afternoon football!
Group tackles. It's the only way to get the ball away from big old Scott!
And a little baseball (we only lost it twice).
Last but not least, a walk around the block with Anja and the Barbie Jeep. Uncle Scott is never to proud to be seen with his favorite three year old.
Their visit was too short but ended with a trip to Virg's diner--one of the kids and Scott's favorites. I don't have pictures of the giant corn dog or pancake because I was getting my ankle x-rayed after a nasty fall. But, I am told that Scott tired to eat Anja's corn dog and she said, "No way, eat your own."
We love you Scott and Shelbi! We'll see you in Chicago!

Singin' in the rain!

Anja has a deep love for the rain. She waits for the drops to start falling, grabs her princess umbrella, and is out the door. She will not come in until it stops. It is the funniest thing. Like the pink? Yeah, so does she. We're defiantly in the pink or purple only phase.

Visit from the Coombs

We were lucky to have grandma and grandpa Coombs come stay with us from New Mexico while we attended a cousin's baptism. Our days were all busy but every night we would gather around the table and build puzzles. We can't wait for them to come back in February!

Preschool field trip!

We headed to the Sandy Fire station for Anja's first field trip as a preschooler. She loved it.
Sitting high!

Anja's preschool class with Miss Cara and Miss Natalie. Can you see my little one striking a pose?

Anja can make anything, even a plastic fireman hat, seem like a fashion statement. That's my girl!

Star Wars night at the symphony

The best part according to the kids was when Darth Vader walked on to the stage and forced the conductor to the floor then took over leading the music. There was cheering and laughing all around.
