Who is the gate keeper?
I've had this debate with my girlfriends and my hubbie for a few days. So, who's the gatekeeper at your house when it comes to time? I take on that role. Why? Because I'm the one who juggles everyone's schedules. I decide if we really have the time to add one more afternoon event into our lives. So why the debate? Well, I think, as the adult female in the house, I can choose where I spend the few volunteer hours I have in a day. I am choosing to spend them at the school for the next two years. So, when the call comes to add another volunteer obligation to the list isn't it my choice to say, "not something I can do right now, I'm obligated somewhere else"? I think so, Rich doesn't (throw the whole church thing in there and you can see the conflict). I have no problem saying no when it's not something I can do, and do well (personal thing there). Someone has to be the gatekeeper and make sure kids are eating their vegetables, practicing the piano, doing their homework and yeah--laundry, house cleaning, make the lunches, pay the bills, buy groceries and my personal favorite-- put out the trash. So, who's the gatekeeper at your house? Food for thought....

That would be me. I make sure the boys all get to work on time. That they get to church activities, school and every other thing they have to do in life on time. I also work outside the home and in the home. Laundry, cleaning, doggy dooty, you know the rest. It's hard but somebody'd gotta do it right. And ALL BECAUSE WE LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!!!
