This is a new rule at our house. One I wasn't aware we needed to verbalize until tonight. Conversation at 9 pm with Carter:
mom: "Carter what are you doing in the kitchen? You are supposed to be in bed."
Carter: "Um, nothing, just getting something out of the freezer."
mom: "What is it, another cup of frozen water? You know the rule, I hate it when you freeze water in the bathroom cups because when I open the freezer they fall out and hit my foot. Give it to me."
Carter: "No mom, no. Let me throw it away."
mom: (getting suspicious) "What? Let me see it."
(mom takes it away and for a moment is dazed at the frozen yellow liquid, until she puts it together)
mom: "Carter Richard Coombs!!!! Is this what I think it is?? IF so you are so dead!!!!!"
(mom leaves room in daze and finds dad to deal with situation-- mom looks for parenting book)
Dad: "Carter we do NOT freeze our own pee. It's gross and now you are going to die." (His answer to anything weird our kids do).
--Carter pretends to be worried--
--mom can't stand it any longer and starts laughing--
--Dad laughs, then reminds Carter he's going to die now.--
Everyone stops laughing. Mom tells Carter this is really gross and not to do it again.
New rule at the Coombs house:
"If you freeze it, you eat it."
Carter promises not to pee in any more cups.
Note to all parents: There is not a "Frozen Pee Problems" chapter in any parenting book I could find. You'll have to deal with this one on your own. I just blamed Rich's DNA for this one.

SO Funny!
Going now to check my freezer...
Note to self: Never consume anything yellow in color when visiting the Coombs household.
Good to know! My boys love to freeze things in cups, mostly cars, but I will watch for yellow stuff. Ugh.
I so needed that crazy laugh. So, the question is: what was he going to do with it after it got all frozen?
OH MY.....! That is hilarious!! I totally enjoyed that story! I'm with Chantelle. What was he going to do with it! Thank heavens I only make girl babies!!
(side note)
Thanks for all your help yesterday! I truly would be lost without you!
How proud of him I am. In all of the strange things I did as a kid, or still do as an adult, I have never froze my pee. However, since Carter is experienced in this, we could start a small business freezing and selling our clean pee.
What do we do with kids these days? Great story!
you mean to tell me THIS is what I have to look forward to with my son!
thank goodness that didn't fall on your foot. you might have thrown up.
Our rule is no peeing in buckets in the crawl space, you can climb the flight os stairs to the nearest bathroom. Unfornately, having three older brothers my lovely, ladylike daughter joined the fun.
I can't believe that, it is hilarious!!! Maybe my boy will come with a reciept. Thanks so much for helping me welcome the "exciting" news of having a boy!
