Carter's assignment: study for two test Wednesday.
Mom: pulls out 3x5 cards writes questions on one side, answers on the other. We sit at the computer and look at nice pictures of the earth and its layers. We watch graphics of earthquakes happen. We memorize, label and regurgitate information that is on the review paper. Mom leaves frustrated and frazzled. Grandma takes over and works with him in a kind, loving manner (she was frazzled when it was me as a kid). Carter learns most of what he needs.
Dad: takes over studying after dinner. Tries flash cards, doesn't think they are working. So some how, some way he managed to teach the ten year old all the layers of the earth and seismic movement by relating it to the sons butt. Yep, that's right. Skin, jeans, shirt and of coarse-- the CRACK.
Son goes to bed smiling and able to rattle off all vocabulary and necessary labels in one breath.
DADS ARE COOL!
(side note-- same dad got kid in trouble last year for telling him his art teacher didn't know squat--guess what, child told art teacher what dad said--MOM had to go to parent/teacher conference and explain. P/T conferences are next week, can't wait.)

Boys are just so GROSS!
Wow, not looking forward to those big tests. Dad's are cool. They get to do all the fun stuff. Come home around six wrestle and play with the kids while mom is the only one nagging to keep everyone on schedule and in bed on time. It doesn't seem fair. I want to be the fun one!!! Any ideas?
I love it, gross, but I love it. Alan gets Robbie to get in jammies by putting them on him instead and she laughs because he looks ridiculous and wants to look just like him. Oh brother.
I love it!! Everything boys know relates to their butts!
well, at least you have something to talk about!
I love it. I don't ever want to know about volcanoes now, though.
